Sacred Patterns, Shared Stories

Islamic Arts for All

Sacred Patterns & Shared Stories is an 18-month Islamic arts project bringing together families, young people and communities across Leicester. The project explores geometry, pattern, colour, language and storytelling through hands-on workshops led by local artists. Across the 18 months, participants can take part in monthly creative sessions, spoken word and podcasting, floral and biomorphic art, Arabic calligraphy, and large-scale collaborative artworks, all leading towards a final public exhibition in 2027.

Rather than a one-off workshop, Sacred Patterns is designed as a creative journey, with returning activities, different artists, and a Creative Passport that celebrates ongoing participation over time.
